History: Immortus would battle the Avengers and transport them to his personal Limbo where he summoned the Legion of the Unliving which included Oort the Living Comet, Right-Winger, Left-Winger, Grim Reaper, Swordsman, Arno Stark, Black Knight I and Toro as his personal soldiers. Oort battled Quicksilver but the speedster was taken down when he was struck in the back by a comet blast. During this appearance he made a claim that he was from the future and had met Quicksilver in the 50th Century. Revived by the Reality Gem, he now serves Grandmaster's Team of Warriors, fighting for his amusement.
Equipment: His Suit is made to withstand speeds breaking the sound barrier.
Powers: Oort can fire small, comet like projectiles that can stun a foe upon impact. Even a speedster like Quicksilver has to take a moment to recover. Speedsters take 1 post, healing factor types 2 posts, everyone else three. He can also run up to speeds of Mach 5. Oort seems to not tire,w hich indicate at least some form of enhancement or superhuman stamina.
Skill: Oort is a skilled hand to hand fighter, he has studied a future variant of Jeet Kun Do that was modified buy a speedster. This allows him to hit faster and harder than most speedsters, maximizing his impact and reaction time. He can catch bullets out of the air.
Weaknesses: Oort's judgment is clouded around Quicksilver. He hates being ignored.
Trivia:
- Oort was a one off attempt to give Quicksilver a supervillain all his own but no one used him since.
- Due to his frequent Trips, Magneto has shoot on sight orders on Oort.
- Oort once tried to claim he WAS Quicksilver, broken by a series of bad choices. No one believed him...obviously.
