History: Blade was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. His mother, Miriam, was a human and his father, Deacon Frost, was a vampire. During conception Frost passed on his DNA to Miriam. Because Blade was not directly bitten by a vampire he himself was born half vampire and half human. Frost later abandoned Miriam and she was left to raise Blade. Miriam was later turned into a vampire against her will. She was desperate to spare Blade from her dark world and gave him up for adoption.
As a child, Blade ran away from the orphanage and began living on the streets. To survive, he stole food from stores and restaurants. Around this time, Blade learned that he was only half-vampire. Because of this, he possesses all the powers of a vampire but has none of their weaknesses.
A vampire hunter named Abraham Whistler found Blade living on the streets and took him in and raised him. When Whistler discovered that Blade was actually half-human and half-vampire, he trained Blade to hunt vampires and to focus his anger. As an adult, Blade became one of the best vampire hunters Whistler ever encountered. Whistler also created a serum that kept Blade from turning into a full vampire. Blade must regularly inject the serum into his body.
Equipment: Blade's weapons were built by Abraham Whistler. His main weapon is his laser sword. He also owns a motorcycle that can drive up walls. A hook can be fired from the front of the motorcycle to pin enemies against a wall, and the headlight on the front of the motorcycle produces ultraviolet light that can kill vampires. There is also a compass mounted on the motorcycle. The compass is an ancient and mystical object that tracks vampires by using magic. However, according to Blade the compass works very slowly in larger cities. Blade also possesses grenades that release a garlic gas that can suffocate vampires. He often uses a crossbow that can fire wooden stakes. Whistler also created a forcefield generator that is capable to trap vampires for Blade's use.
Blade also owns specialized guns that fire solar radiation and a net. Another one of Blade's guns fires a missile that releases a garlic gas when it explodes. He also possesses another type of grenade that produces a blinding flash of solar energy when it explodes.
Powers: As a vampire, all of Blade's senses are enhanced to superhuman levels. Being a vampire also makes Blade super strong, and thanks to being only half-vampire, he is not harmed by sunlight or garlic.

Weaknesses: Blade does possess one weakness common to all vampires - the need to ingest fresh blood in order to stay alive. However, rather than consume blood, he ingests or injects a specially designed serum that provides even better nourishment that blood would provide. If Blade doesn't drink the serum for an extended period of time, he will weaken and his self-control will be stretched. He would be forced to attack a human and consume his or her blood if this period is more than a week. Blade does have a huge amount of blood-serum in his inventory and actually never runs out of energy. One serum is enough for 24 hours of extended combat or he can use it to quickly recover from grave wounds. Although he has a special meditation to maintain his self-control, an extended period of time without consuming either blood or the serum will prove fatal.
