History: Peter Benjamin Parker was born in Queens to CIA agents Richard and Mary Parker. While Peter was still an infant, his parents were assigned to infiltrate the Algerian based spy ring controlled by the Skymaster. The moment the Skymaster learned that Richard and Mary were double agents, he had them killed and then framed them for treason. Peter went to live with his uncle and aunt, Ben and May Parker, in Forest Hills, New York; they became Peter’s surrogate parents and raised him as if he were their own son. Over the next nine years, Parker grew to be extremely bright in science and became a high honors student at Midtown High School. Parker's shyness and scholastic interest often made him a social outcast and a target for bullies, primarily football star Flash Thompson. Nevertheless, Peter did eventually graduate from high school and got a college scholarship from ESU.
While attending a public exhibition demonstrating the safe handling of nuclear laboratory waste materials, sponsored by the General Techtronics Corporation, the 19-year-old Peter Parker was bitten on the hand by a spider that had been irradiated by a particle accelerator used in the demonstration. Unbeknownst to him, after the spider fell from his hand, it died from the radiation. Making his way home afterwards, Peter was almost hit by a car; when Peter jumped out of the way, Peter discovered he had somehow gained incredible strength, agility, and the ability to cling to walls, spider-like traits that he immediately associated with the spider bite.
Encountering an ad offering a cash prize for staying in the ring for three minutes with professional wrestler Joseph "Crusher" Hogan, Peter decided this would be a good way to test his powers. Wearing a mask to avoid potential embarrassment in case he lost the match, Peter easily defeated his opponent. TV producer Maxwell Shiffman observed his performance and convinced him to go on television with his 'act.' Designing a full costume and fabricating a fluid similar to a spider's web and wrist-mounted web-shooters, Peter called himself Spider-Man, becoming an immediate sensation.
Following his first TV appearance, Peter failed to act to stop an escaping thief, claiming that it was not his responsibility to do so. Peter forgot the incident as his fame rose, but days later he returned home at night to find his Uncle Ben had been murdered. Learning the police had the burglar responsible holed up in a warehouse, Peter changed to Spider-Man and easily captured him only to discover he was the same thief he had allowed to escape earlier. Filled with remorse, he realized that when someone has power, he has an obligation to use it responsibly, so he decided to become a superhero.
However, life became tougher for young Peter and he used his superhero identity to escape from all the problems real life brought on him. His girlfriend, Gwen Stacy, tried to convince him to give up the Spider-Man suit, but to no avail. This led to Gwen's death at the hands of the Green Goblin. This incident brought Peter into a downward spiral and made him finally give up being Spider-Man, keeping a promise to Gwen of not letting the suit control his life ever again.
For a year, Peter did things and handled every trouble without relying on Spider-Man. But still, he was empty inside. He tried dating other women (like Mary Jane Watson, Alyona Korsakov, Alisa Silvermane, Dinah Vitelli, Betty Brant, Kate Cushing, Carol Danvers, Yuri Watanabe, Medusa, Carol Webster, US Senator Denise Lindberg, Mona Osborn and a rather mysterious girl by the name of Gretchen Frank), but none of them made him feel the same things Gwen did, until his old crush Joyce Delaney was made into a Gwen Stacy clone. Peter had been secretly in love with Joyce ever since they first met, but couldn't really act on his feelings, and when he first saw her with Gwen's appearance, his pain returned full force, seeing the two women he loved most combined into one. Nevertheless, Peter learned to accept Joyce despite her haunting resemblance to Gwen.
Life became harder and harder every day. Peter became involved in a coin robbery case and was arrested for not delivering evidence to the police. Eventually, he was released after he proved that the main suspect had been framed by her own husband, who had staged the robbery in the first place. Still, this cost Peter his job at the Bugle and his previous girlfriend Mary Jane Watson was brought on board as his replacement.
Now without employment, Peter became involved with the police force as an evidence finder whenever the cops needed someone to sneak into warehouses and expose all illegal activities going on in there. This work almost cost him his life after Hammerhead tried to murder Peter in his own apartment. Worse still, Peter's Aunt May suffered a heart attack and passed away, which left Peter in a state of despair and almost made him leave New York forever. His clone brother Ben Reilly and Police Captain Irwin Barbera convinced him to stay, saying that Aunt May wouldn't want him to stop doing good for other people.
Peter went back to the city, but after discovering that the SHIELD organization had been keeping secrets from him, he almost went insane with rage. He was also shocked by the appearance of another Gwen Stacy clone with the original's personality. All the anger, regret and pain he felt dissipated when Joyce comforted him and inspired him to keep fighting and let go of the past. It was then that Peter decided to admit his feelings for Joyce and started dating her. He also understood that Gwen told him to find balance when she said not to let the suit take over his life, so after a year of absence, Spider-Man returned to the fight, more inspired and determined than ever.
Eventually, a group named the Web Warriors brought Peter into their Headquarters (the Crystal Palace) and offered Peter a position as part of the team as well as a new suit. Peter accepted, and now, he is ready to fight against evil alongside other people just like him and alternate versions of himself.
Years passed, and eventually, Peter married Joyce and they had two children, which they named Lisa and Bryan. Peter also became the head of the Hardy Foundation's science division, supervising Neogenic experiments and radioactive processes. However, Peter was forced to stop being a superhero after suffering an asthma attack during a battle with Spider-Carnage that left him in a coma for weeks. He managed to survive it, but was told that if he physically exerted himself as much as he did then, he could die. Although he didn't mind dying, he decided to keep living for the sake of his family.
Peter saw his children grow up and graduate from high-school, proud of their accomplishments. He also took time to teach them the lessons his late Uncle Ben taught him. Eventually, both Maria Morrell and Peter's daughter Lisa were called in for a mission to save Maria's father Carl's life. Peter, Joyce and Buck stayed behind, but eventually, when the Beyonder sensed that the end of all reality was near and that Lisa might need encouragement from her loved ones, he teleported Peter, Joyce and Buck back in time. With them, came Art Reilly, the son of Ben Reilly and Jackie Simmons.
Now, Peter is waiting for Buck to find Lisa, in order to give her the encouragement she so desperately needs.
