During that time, Hanlon was already quite active in the force, being part of warehouse raids and drug busts. He was also the officer who had to give Peter Parker the news that his Uncle Ben had been murdered.
Whenever Peter sees Hanlon, it always brings back the sadness he felt back when he was given the news.
