History: Admiral Vel-Ronn hailed from a minor family in the empire, whose father, Gar-Ronn, was know as something of a failure for a bad call in a battle that allowed the Skrull a massive victory over the Kree. Vel strove to bring honor back to his family and enlisted as soon as he was of age. With enough hard work and dedication he became Captain of his own ship and fought many battles against the Skrull alongside his #2 Dagg-Lorn. He was even falling for his female navigation officer, Sera-Vull But his luck wasn't going to last.
His ship was called upon to help turn the tide in a serious firefight.They arrived swiftly on he scene and for a while it looked like they'd actually pull it off. But then several parts of the ship blew up. Before Vel could react Dagg got up, shot several of the bridge crew dead,including Sera and turned into a Skrull. The real Dagg died in the Military Academy, this whole time him and three others were Skrull infiltrators. Fueled with grief and rage Vel overpowered the traitor and broke his neck, he then hunted down the remaining Skrull and killed them before evacuating his ship. He was badly wounded, especially due to a shot to his right shoulder from the last spy. His last act before evacuating was setting the ship on auto pilot towards the Skurll fleet.
His ship crashed into the lead Skrull ship, destroying it and a few others, thus wining the battle for the Kree. Captain Ronn and 12 others of a crew of 1000 were recovered. Vel was promoted to Admiral for his bravery and offered a reward for his heroism from the Supreme Intelligence, all Vel could ask for...was a chance at revenge. His right arm was saved by Kree science he underwent experimentation to gain powers. He soon gained control of Stellar Flame, though he needed a suit to regulate his powers,and sword to channel it. He took the name of his blade and became known as the ruthless Skrull killer known as Starblade.
He hunted Skrull down and killed almost any he has encountered, specializing in finding Infiltrators and preventing them from invading other worlds. This prevented the Skrull from gaining footholds to use against the Empire. He was found captured by the Guardians of the Galaxy in a Skrull outpost and was saved by their efforts. They decided to allow him to join them when he asked as...he can get them past Kree checkpoints and by patrols.
Weapons: The Starblade Sword: The blade is made from the hardest Kree metals, it was made to act as a conduit to Starblade's power. Able to heat up and light ablaze, or be shrouded in a solid flame like barrier when he needs to smash something or not cut his foe. The blade cannot be wielded by any other. It's symbiotic. If anyone tries it'll heat up so much that even Hercules finds it uncomfortable to hold, though it seems not to react to Accusers. Likely as a fail safe by the Supreme Intelligence.
Starblade's Suit: While appearing like a typical Kree Admiral's suit, the suit is specially made to protect Vel-Ronn from his powers from overloading.As he cannot properly contain himself outside it, he needs the suit when active in order to fight effectively, even if it is just to heat up his sword. The suit also allows him to fly and the Helmet has a detachable universal translator.
It is strong enough to allow him to survive,the physical stress of planetary reentry as well as take a beating from superhumanly strong foes and show little damage, as he has battled groups of War Skrulls and walked out unscathed.
Powers:
Stellar Flame - Vel-Ronn can command the fire of a living star, able to fire searing torrents of blue flame, shape it into anything he wills (Like a bird), basorb flame or even just heat up metals. He can also create a solid flame like barrier to use in similar functions when seeking to contain foes, protect himself or create simple tools. It is said outside of his suit he could potentially generate white flames but he would build up too much power trying this way and explode due to a flaw in his power conversion. As such he avoids using his powers like this.
Superhuman Strength - Vel-Ronn can lift up to 22 tons.
Flame Immunity - He is immune to high temperatures and fire.
Superhuman Stamina - Vel-Ronn can engage in 36 hours of continuous activity before needing to rest due to fatigue.
Skill: Vel-Ronn is an a expert in Anti-Skurll warfare. He knows all their invasion protocols and can track them relentlessly. He is fairly good at spotting the average Skrull infiltrator. Vel-Ronn is skilled in hand to hand combat and his swordplay allows him to keep up with an expert fighter like Hercules.
Weaknesses: Starblade cannot use his powers without his suit without his flesh heating up. If he were to do this for long, it is guessed he will explode.

- Vel-Ronn is kept in check by Thor when Skrulls are abound.
- He cannot understand Groot
- Starblade is neutral towards the Avengers.
