The TV and radio stations were transmitting their regular programming, when suddenly, Barry Bartholomew could be seen on the screen and his voice heard over the radio.
"We've interrupted our regular programming for this special news alert." said Barry. "We at the Daily Globe have received a threatening video recording from a woman who calls herself the Goblin Queen. The message is addressed to all the people in New York."
Suddenly, the hideous faces of the Goblin Queen and Grey Goblin are seen on the screen.

"Greetings, citizens. I am the Goblin Queen... and I am recording this message to warn you about our rise to power." said the Goblin Queen as the launching satellite is shown on-screen. "As you can see, my Goblinizer cannon is attached to this satellite. It will launch my gremlin dust all over the city, making all of you ugly, grotesque, horrific... like true Goblins!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!"
The Goblins appear on-screen once again.
"Within an hour, the world will become Goblinopolis, the new domain of the Goblins!!! We shall rule the world!!!" laughed the Grey Goblin.
Both the Goblin Queen and Grey Goblin laughed as their transmission ended. We see Barry on-screen once again.
"What might be troubling to all of us citizens is the fact that there are no ransom demands... does this mean that the world will finally come to an end? Or will this be one of the biggest hoaxes in the history of mankind?" uttered Barry. "Only time will tell... this is Barry Bartholomew signing off."

At the Daily Bugle, J. Jonah Jameson, Robbie Robertson, Kate Cushing and Betty Brant had just returned from the hospital and were watching Barry's broadcast.
"THE BIGGEST SCOOP OF THE CENTURY AND THAT STUCK-UP JERK BARTHOLOMEW GOT TO IT FIRST!!! NOT TO MENTION THAT MARY JANE WATSON BETRAYED THE BUGLE'S TRUST AND MURDERED FELICIA HARDY AND MY NEPHEW MORTIMER DISOBEYED MY ORDERS!!!" yelled J. Jonah Jameson.
"JJ, dial it down." uttered Kate.
Jameson turned to Robbie.
"Robertson... tell Mortimer that if he shows his face around here again, I'll have his head on a silver platter!!! This is the first time he has ever disobeyed an order and there won't be a next time." said Jameson. "As for Watson, she's fired!!! The Bugle doesn't give work to murderers and criminals."
Betty was worried. She was wondering how Peter would react to MJ murdering Felicia.

At a drugstore, Jeff Fitzmaurice was putting the medicine on shelves along with his girlfriend Mitzi Woodward when Barry's broadcast went on. Now, Mitzi and Jeff were quite concerned about what would happen next.
"Jeff? Do ya really think we'll become like those Goblins?" asked Mitzi with a somewhat nervous tone.
"I... I don't know what to say about it, Mitzi... I just pray it's a hoax... but it certainly didn't feel like it..." said Jeff as he walked out of the store.

At the hospital, Jackie Simmons had seen the broadcast. She was extremely worried about what would happen. She walked out and looked into the distance.
"Ben... where are you?" said Jackie with concern. "If this is the end... then I have to be with you..."
Jackie made a fist and then ran out to find Ben. She was determined to stay with him if this was the end of human civilization. As she thought about it, she teared up. She had just admitted her feelings to Ben, but now, the world seemed to be coming to an end. It felt hopeless.

Dr. Moon had just escaped from his hideout on a car. As he drove, he heard Barry's broadcast and had a look of frustration in his face.
"Blasted Grey Goblin... he betrayed me for that new Goblin... well, if humanity survives this, I will personally deal with him." uttered Moon, ticked off.
