History: Becky Bartay's powers manifested when she was in Kindergarten. She was curiously touching the water, which was creating ripples, and noticed that depending on her thoughts, she could create her own ripples without touching the water.
As a teenager, she discovered that she was also able to affect other elements as well as energy in the electromagnetic spectrum. Physics classes were the most important for Becky because part of it dealt with waves and energy. She graduated from high school as top of her class.
After high school, Becky became interested in acting. But before she could start, Professor Charles Xavier telepathically contacted her and offered her to join the X-Men. Becky agreed and became known as Wavelength.
Becky was one of the most powerful members in the team. Her power to control waves and electromagnetic energies made her quite a formidable addition to the missions and she was always there in case you needed backup. However, that all changed when her boyfriend and fellow teammate, Sid Middleton, was in the middle of a fight with the Juggernaut and fell into a crevice below. Becky tried to use her powers to save Sid, but due to her desperation, her powers went out of control and Sid was killed by the fall.
Traumatized and distraught, Becky decided to stop being a superheroine and ran away from the X-Men. Now, she has tried to leave her past behind and has now focused her energies into her acting career. She sometimes tries to forget about being a mutant due to her previous failure, but the memory of Sid's death remains with her, sometimes crippling her self-confidence.

Powers: Becky's mutant power is being able to alter every type of energy in the electromagnetic spectrum (radio waves, microwaves, infrared light, visible light, ultraviolet light, X-rays and gamma rays) using just her mind. She can also use her mind to control water, fire, earth, sound and electrical signals in a conductor.
Skills: Becky is a very intelligent young woman. She is quite good at solving math problems and has a lot of knowledge in physics. She is also quite a talented actress and has combat experience thanks to her time with the X-Men.
Weaknesses: Becky's sonic control powers are useless in a vacuum due to the speed of sound in a vacuum being of zero meters per second. However, her other electromagnetic wave control powers remain intact in a vacuum.
